Essential New Media have been working with Derbyshire County Council's Derbyshire Arts Partnership since Spring 2006.
ENM have provided a wide variety of services to DAP since their engagement. These have ranged from project management, interim management, contract negotiation and technical consultancy to training, marketing support and creative direction. Debbie, of ENM, has often stepped in to fill the gap in the long life of the project to date, so much so that she's become more like a member of the team than a consultant.
Debbie now often speaks with the 'voice' of the Client to keep the project moving forwards. Frances Watt, Arts Partnership Manager and leader for the artsderbyshire website project said:
"Debbie has worked really well with all the staff and steering group involved in the artsderbyshire project. Staff are happy to approach her for advice with the project, and she always responds to queries and issues quickly and clearly. I am confident in Debbie’s abilities to represent the interests of the project in discussions and negotiations with other members of the project team including the web developers."
The website made it's public launch in January 2007 and the registered user numbers have continued to climb steadily since then.
ENM helped DAP to define the website and its functionality initially, which had to remain within the bounds of the Development Supplier's tender response and that of the website's budget. ENM then took the website project through its development phase to its public launch early in 2007.
Ann Wright, Assistant Head of Arts for Derbyshire County Council said:
"I have worked with Debbie for the last three years on the artsderbyshire website. The quality of her work is always excellent and she is a remarkably competent, reliable and friendly person to work with.
I have rarely met anyone who combines such ease of manner, in-depth knowledge of her field and efficiency. Debbie is a pleasure to work with. She has never missed a deadline and is an excellent project manager. She provides a perfect “translation” service between web companies and their jargon and those of us who use ordinary English. I can’t recommend her highly enough."
The resulting website has been received very favourably within the Derbyshire arts community and the Derbyshire Arts Partnership are delighted with it and the scope it offers for supporting the arts community within its remit. A second phase of development is now in it's planning stage, and so watch this space!
